Join Kristin Campbell and Crystal Rainbow Borrelli for a 200-hr YTT in lovely Squamish BC.

This 200-hour Teacher Training will be spread over 9 weeks, starting in Feb 2027 and ending in June 2027. This format allows time for integration between sessions.

About:

Participants will be inspired and empowered to develop and transform as teachers and individuals. This training offers an in-depth understanding of traditional hatha yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation (historical context and alignment); a study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita; an embodied experience of physical and energetic alignment in action; and provides you with skills and confidence to teach Hatha and Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga, as well as simple meditation and pranayama techniques.

Curriculum Overview:

We are committed to training biomechanically intelligent teachers who can support their love of yoga with a deep understanding of and respect for functional movement and personal transformation.

You will develop a rich foundation in anatomy and alignment, class sequencing, philosophy, physical and energetic anatomy, mantra, mythology, chanting, pranayama, self-care practices, and teaching methodology, such as teaching with confidence and how to teach to every-body, including those with special needs, such as students with injuries or who are pregnant.

You will be given homework assignments consisting of: recommended reading, assignments on scripting, cueing, and sequencing, personal practice recommendations, and practice teaching hours during the time between in-person sessions.


Module I: Lay your Foundation

Deepen your practice and understanding of functional movement through classes, anatomy modules, and asana labs, and begin the study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Pranayama, meditation, mantra, chanting + asana practice

Anatomy modules:

  • Planes of Movement,

  • Foot/Ankle/Knee, Hip,

  • Hand/Wrist/Arm

Asana labs to explore asana and alignment in Surya Namaskar a + b and Standing poses

Teaching Methodology

Introduction to Pranayama + Meditation

Philosophy: Introduction to The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Philosophy: The History of Yoga

Philosophy: Introduction to the Bhagavad Gita

Practice Teaching

Module II: Integrate + Transform  

This will be an immersion into anatomy, asana, pranayama, meditation, mythology, mantra, teaching methodology, and deepening your understanding of yoga philosophy.

Pranayama, meditation, mantra, chanting + asana practice

Anatomy modules:

  • Shoulder,

  • Major Bones, Joints, and Muscles

  • Muscles of the Core,

  • Muscle Tissue + Connective Tissue,

  • Anatomy of the Breath

Asana Labs to explore asana and alignment in complex poses such as twists, arm balances, and inversions

Teaching Methodology + Teaching Skills

Introduction to Sequencing

Philosophy: Completion of The Yoga Sutras

Philosophy: The Bhagavad Gita

Philosophy: Ethical Principles for Yoga Teachers and the Eight Limbs of Yoga

Introduction to Ayurveda and other self-care practices

Practice Teaching + feedback to hone your skills

Module III: Skill in Action

Take the Seat of the Teacher; develop, refine, and take action with your teaching skills.

Pranayama, meditation, mantra, chanting + asana practice

Application of advanced teaching skills such as language, voice, cueing, and space-holding

Theming skills

Anatomy modules:

  • Introduction to Injuries

  • Introduction to Physiology

Asana Labs to explore the alignment of complex backbends, seated poses, and supine poses

Introduction to Hands-on Assists

Philosophy: Completion of The Bhagavad Gita

Business of yoga, and what's next

Teaching Practicum and Evaluation
